There's this notion that Ridge always chooses Brooke but that's patently false. I don't even have to go back to the 90s to disprove that. Back in 2015, Brooke threw herself at Ridge but he told her to go pound sand because he wanted to be with Caroline, whom he eventually married. At no point did he leave Caroline for Brooke. Their marriage was unfortunately over before Ridge fell back into his old pattern. Point is, he can and has chosen women over Brooke.

Not for long

Ridge is written as an impulsive person when he believes, rightly or wrongly, that Brooke has shown any interest in another man. But she is the one woman Ridge can never get over. And yes, his romances with other women are just rebounds from Brooke or flings that never last. Brooke is the love of his life.
