There's this notion that Ridge always chooses Brooke but that's patently false. I don't even have to go back to the 90s to disprove that. Back in 2015, Brooke threw herself at Ridge but he told her to go pound sand because he wanted to be with Caroline, whom he eventually married. At no point did he leave Caroline for Brooke. Their marriage was unfortunately over before Ridge fell back into his old pattern. Point is, he can and has chosen women over Brooke.

Brooke, Ridge, and Taylor have been married to others, but Ridge always returns to Brooke. It's a soap, so of course there are going to be break ups, but Brooke is the love of Ridge's life, the one he can't get out of his system and doesn't want to.
