Why did Thomas tell Douglas about the proposal?

That set him up for disappointment.

Tom explained why he was leaving to move on…..he told the truth..kid deserved to know why

I guess, but does Thomas think it's good to make Douglas feel like he isn't good enough for Hope? There has to be a better way. Douglas was talking like he was 30 years old.

It was the dumbest dialog written for a child I have ever heard....unless he is suppose to be "Young Sheldon"....his message was good, the way they wrote him to deliver it was absurd. "Caroline Spencer was my mother, she gave birth to me"??? Huh??? What kid talks like this? It sounded silly. I was laughing my butt off listening to it. The kid is great, and I admire him doing the lines without rolling his eyes. LOL. Why not just write it like a real kid would say it....the kid is a very good actor....I wish the same could be said about the writing.

"My father said you turned down his proposal"
"Dad's had struggles, it's been tough for both of us, but he has worked so hard to get past them"
"good-bye"

Really? This was written like he accidentally was handed the script that was meant for Ridge. LOL
