Is Hope Really Gaslighting Liam?

Hope's been accused of gaslighting Liam about her feelings for Thomas but is that really the case? To gaslight someone you have to make them believe something is true that's not. The thing is the person doing the gaslighting has to know that what they're making someone believe, is false. Hope's been in denial about her feelings for Thomas for awhile. She admitted her feelings to Brooke than backpedaled and claimed she has everything under control. She's not really admitted and accepted her feelings so she can't really be gaslighting Liam about them.

Honestly I had never heard the word gaslighting until I registered here, lol. English isn't my first language, and I didn't know the meaning of this word. I read it for the first time during Brill's affair when he was married to Katie.

I don't believe Hope hasn't admitted her feelings to herself. You don't fantasize about another guy for months and still think you don't have feelings for him. You don't hyperventilate and cry for him if you don't have feelings. I don't believe that. Besides, like you said, she admitted in 3 different scenes she has feelings. Backpedaling doesn't change what she said. Even the bottle of water knows it, that's why it keeps falling every time she lies.
And then there is Liam who brags about his passionate sexual life since the day Hope had her first Thomas daydream. Does it mean Hope fantasizes about Thomas when she has sex with Liam but she still thinks she doesn't love Thomas? I don't believe that either. lol
