While she was still coherent she made it crystal clear to Thomas that she didn't want him. Yes they drank together but Caroline wasn't just drunk. The combination of pills and wine in her system basically acted as a sedative and rendered unable to consent. Thomas level of intoxication has no bearing on Caroline being able to consent to sex or not.
