Chasing Destiny

Ridge has spent so much of his life chasing destiny with Brooke but it's always been elusive. I can't speak to his relationship with Caroline I. His relationship with Taylor has always been easy but loving and passionate. He and Caroline II were truly, madly, deeply in love with each other and didn't give a damn what anyone thought. It was a smooth natural chemistry a deep love that didn't feel like a chore. With Brooke it's always a chore, a challenge. I think Ridge has convinced himself of this whole "destiny" thing and feels some kind of compulsion to try and make it happen. Maybe he's finally realizing that they're not "destiny", that though they love each other, they've been chasing an illusion, trying to live up to everyone else's expectations, and it's time to give it up. At that point he would be free to accept that Taylor's the woman for him and always has been.

Pfft - what I wouldn’t give for RJ to come back and harass Ridge nonstop the way Steffy and Thomas do, then we can talk about Tridge’s “easy” relationship. RJ can rant and rave about how Taylor cheated on Ridge, that she slept with his whole family, kissed a guy in their bedroom while wearing lingerie and don’t forget she killed Ridge’s sister in law then hooked up with her widower while keeping it secret, sending Ridge’s niece insane. Bonus points if he finds out she shot Bill and he tells the press, plus lets the press know about things like buying a baby and stealing medical files- then RJ can rant and rave about how scandalous Taylor is, too.
