Chasing Destiny

That's my whole point though. Ridge has been chasing this illusion of him and Brooke being "destiny" this entire time. He's genuinely happier, more relaxed, and more likeable around Taylor but he's so tied to the idea that Brooke is his "destiny" he feels compelled to be with her. I'm not saying he doesn't love Brooke just that he's lost perspective and has bought into the notion of their relationship being more grandiose than it actually is.

But is he really happier? I mean, they constantly are saying to him that he is happier, over and over, without end. But is he? Most of the time he looks befuddled and not so happy when they are bashing him over the head about how happy he is. LOL. He looks happy when the little kids are around. He looks happy that his daughter has a husband that adores her. But, is that enough? Here is what I saw happen the last 10 months. A wedge was put between Brooke and Ridge by Sheila on NYE, then Taylor and the Brats saw their chance, took a hammer, and have been pounding it like John Henry, the steel-driving man, only in this case, they are The Hamilton's, the STEAL-driving Gang. Every single time any one of them is with Ridge it is POUND, POUND, POUND over his head. Brooke is bad, Taylor is good, you are not happy with Brooke, you are happy with Mom. Ridge is already a weak man, so he cannot hold up long under that onslaught. I am amazed he has held up this long. So, happier with the Hamilton Gang? I don't think so, I just think the guy has been tortured so long by them, he is ready to confess and just get things moving along, so he can get to his cot and 3 squares a day, and not have to be sweated out 24/7 by the Hamilton's.

I have been wondering something. When everything shakes out, and if Ridge goes back to Brooke, why won't there be happy times with "the family" anymore? Is Steffy going to deny Ridge time with her and her kids? Will she stop wanting Forrester dinners at Eric's home just because her dad did not do her bidding? Will Taylor wimp out again and go hide because she cannot bear to see Ridge happy with Brooke? Or will she suck it up, and be a part of the family, that includes Brooke? Like it or not, these idiots must come to terms with the FACT that Brooke is their family too, because she is the mother to their bio-brother, RJ. She is also the mother to 2 of Eric's children. The grandmother to ALL of the current children on the show, except Hayes. Brooke is more a member of the Forrester family than almost all of them. And definitely right now, she is more a Forrester than Taylor, who is not a Forrester at all.
