Original Caroline will always be his true love. No amount of rewrite is ever going to change that. He has called Brooke an obstacle more than once in 1988-1989. Brooke and Thorne's stubbornness, machinations and Brooke's surprise pregnancy are what kept Ridge from her. When Brooke lost her baby bait Ridge couldn't wait to kick her to the curb and chase after Caroline. He fought until she finally agreed to marry him. The only thing that tore them apart was illness and death. Brooke and Taylor will always be rebound 2nd and 3rd choices (or the opposite). Everything about Bridge and Tridge was fake and forced from the get-go. Deep down they know it but they'll always refuse to face the hard truth!

Meh, that relationship was the most toxic thing I have seen on this show before Thomas and Caroline and him and hope.

Ridge only wanted her virgin ass to spite his father. She married his brother and she screwed him across the hall from her marriage bed.

Not to mention Caroline is dead, dead, dead, for years, and if that was his one true love, then he has moved on to what is his destiny, Brooke. Not to mention, his brother Thorne, literally "had" her first and like you said, she then goes on to screw Ridge in her and Thorne's marital bed, while herhusband was downstairs in the kitchen having a sandwich with her MIL. Yewwwwwww.
