Original Caroline will always be his true love. No amount of rewrite is ever going to change that. He has called Brooke an obstacle more than once in 1988-1989. Brooke and Thorne's stubbornness, machinations and Brooke's surprise pregnancy are what kept Ridge from her. When Brooke lost her baby bait Ridge couldn't wait to kick her to the curb and chase after Caroline. He fought until she finally agreed to marry him. The only thing that tore them apart was illness and death. Brooke and Taylor will always be rebound 2nd and 3rd choices (or the opposite). Everything about Bridge and Tridge was fake and forced from the get-go. Deep down they know it but they'll always refuse to face the hard truth!

Caroline died, and her and Ridge were horrid before that! He wanted to marry her just to spite her father (not for love). Then he cheated on her the night before their wedding. Then he fell for Brooke and played ping pong for a bit. But, Caroline married Thorne knowing about the big letter Ridge wrote, then she treated Thorne like garbage and was cruel to Brooke for having dared be pregnant by her BIL! She was so happy when Brooke lost her baby she just had to be at the hospital to see and revel in it! They weren't even married a year before she died, so no, there was no "rewrite". Ridge loved her for a time, then he didn't. Caroline is dead. She has no relevance to this anymore and hasn't for over 30 years.

Yep. Complete witch and used to fuss Stephanie out, too. It was unreal. Smh. And he was also hooking up with Margo! Lol

He might have loved Caroline but she was not his true love or destiny.
