It's a rewrite when Ridge says he knew Brooke was the one since the first time she laid eyes on him. It's a big fat lie. Ridge didn't even like Brooke at the beginning, she meant no more than Alex Simpson or Margo Linlay. She and Thorne were the obstacles, the rebounds, the interlopers, call it how you want. The minute Caroline was free again he coudln't dump Brooke fast enough. Taylor and Brooke never existed until Caroline died.

Caroline meant nothing from the get go, either. Just a way to irritate her dad and take any of her.

Brooke was the end game. That iconic stare they gave each other at the party lives forever. So romantic. Destiny.
