But they were the original true love story. Ridge only moved on with Brooke because Caroline married Thorne. The only reason why he stayed was the baby. When he had a choice he always picked Caroline until she died. Ridge has called Brooke the obstacle more than once. She was the a loser and so was Taylor.

IMO, Brooke and Ridge are the heart and soul of The Bold and the Beautiful. And I don't even like Ridge and would rather see Brooke with Bill. Bridge are the end game couple. Caroline is irrelevant at this point and I can't think of a reason why Bell would write her as Ridge's true love if she's never going to be on the show again. Ridge and Brooke are the love of each other's lives. Everyone else is angst for them.
