Why I think Liam doesn't care about Steffy's past cheating

There is no way in hell any man would consider his wife kissing some guy that he hates as being more disgusting than his wife sleeping with his own dad. Liam is now acting like he is trying to rescue his fragile ego from being completely destroyed. He isn't able to accept that Hope has a divided heart because that's something only he can have. If now he would make Steffy leave her amazing, loving and handsome husband for him his ego would be rescued. Also Steffy wanted him back desperately after her ONS with Bill while Hope isn't exactly acting like she's desperate. Liam always thought that he deserved a woman to be his doormat. Poor Liam... It looks like it won't be happening for him anytime soon or ever.

Hope slept with his brother Wyatt and he got past it.. It's not what she did but who she did it with he can't forgive. He constantly told her what he suspected and she just gas lighted him and betrayed him with a monster than tried to destroy their family. That's what he can't forgive. It has nothing to do with ego, frustration and disappointment are the reason.

For me that is way too simplistic. But I do believe the whole sordid history of Liam and "his divided heart" and how he reacts to disappointment played out in Hope's behavior. This character has been shown to be loving and forgiving but hurt upon hurt can indeed fester and manifest in ways that the subconscious plays out. I think that is why Hope was confused and tried to deny the feelings she was having. She didn't understand them and didn't want them. She never consciously wanted to lie to or hurt Liam but what her unconscious mind had going on was perhaps not the same at all.

Regardless, I think Liam does need time to reflect on how they arrived at this place in time and just how destructive his behavior has been to Hope and to Steffy. He needs alone time not comfort or someone to gloss over his part in all this.
