Why I think Liam doesn't care about Steffy's past cheating

There is no way in hell any man would consider his wife kissing some guy that he hates as being more disgusting than his wife sleeping with his own dad. Liam is now acting like he is trying to rescue his fragile ego from being completely destroyed. He isn't able to accept that Hope has a divided heart because that's something only he can have. If now he would make Steffy leave her amazing, loving and handsome husband for him his ego would be rescued. Also Steffy wanted him back desperately after her ONS with Bill while Hope isn't exactly acting like she's desperate. Liam always thought that he deserved a woman to be his doormat. Poor Liam... It looks like it won't be happening for him anytime soon or ever.

To me it has more to do with who he thought they were in the first place. Not that he thought Steffy was capable of sleeping with his father per se, but what Hope did, and he doesn’t even know the half of it (yet?), was a bigger fall from the virtuous perfect pedestal he (and she) had her standing on. He never put Steffy in a pedestal in the first place; he saw her for who she is.
