I think down deep there’s more to Thomas’ obsession with Hope than Hope herself.

I think part of him as Steffy’s big brother wants to secure Liam for Steffy.

Down deep I think Thomas knows that while Steffy may love Finn, he wasn’t her first choice and I think he wants Steffy to have that. I think he’d turn on Finn in a heartbeat if Steffy could have Liam back because it would certainly benefit Thomas’ own obsession with owning Hope but also I think Thomas believes it’s Steffy’s true desire.

This is why Thope would never work, because Thomas is never going to really love or accept Beth. His dream was for Beth to be raised by someone else or to be deceased. He also hates Beth because she’s a Logan.

That connection of Lope will always bother him and how can Hope be in love with a man that will always resent her daughter?

Thomas doesn't seem obsessed with Hope now and has not talked about Steffy and Liam forever. He has no interest in what Liam does nor has he said he wants Steffy and Liam to reunite.

Did you miss the scenes with Thomas looking at pictures of Hope on his phone and his Thope flashbacks? Then he told Hope she will always be the woman he wants and he is a one-woman man. I don't know if he is is still obsessed but at the vey least he is still deeply in love and interested in her.

I don't think he wants Steffy and Liam to reunite either. But I kinda agree with the arguments too. He will throw Finn under the bus if Liam wants Steffy back (or vice versa), if he thinks it will benefit him and Hope.
