Nobody Understands Shared Custody

Thomas and Hope have shared custody of Douglas. That means they're supposed to be splitting time equal yet Liam and Brooke don't seem to understand that concept. They act like Thomas only has supervised visitation. They both keep referring to Brooke's cabin as his home but in reality he's got two homes and Hope can't monopolize him.

I didn't realize with shared custody that one person could take him for an overnight adventure and then keep him permanently. That's so weird that that can happen in shared custody.

It cannot. Hope could file a contempt of court complaint and take it to court. That would happen fast, and if they found that Tom violated the custody agreement by not returning Douglas in the time prescribed in the agreement, he could be held in contempt and face fines and penalties. Or, if Hope goes to pick up Douglas and she is stopped from doing so, she can call the police to come to Eric's home, show them a certified copy of the custody order, and they would remove Douglas from the home, and possibly arrest Tom or anyone that tried to stop her getting her son.
