Nobody Understands Shared Custody

Thomas and Hope have shared custody of Douglas. That means they're supposed to be splitting time equal yet Liam and Brooke don't seem to understand that concept. They act like Thomas only has supervised visitation. They both keep referring to Brooke's cabin as his home but in reality he's got two homes and Hope can't monopolize him.

I agree that Hope can't expect to monopolize time With Douglas, but shared custody doesn't always mean splitting time equally. A lot of parents have primary custody, then the other parent has the children every weekend or every other weekend. Separated parents often alternate who has the kids for holidays and vacations. Really, shared custody can mean just about anything.

I love the Hope character, but I have to admit, she's being a little inflexible about the time Douglas spends with Thomas, though Thomas isn't being the great dad he's trying to sell himself as being.

Not seeing how Hope was inflexible. She didn't care when Tom kept coming by the cabin. She never told him he could not spend time with him. I think this stuff is stupid. Why didn't Tom just ask his dad and Brooke if he could move into their big house, then Douglas would have both parents on the same property. Brooke would have said yes, because then she would know Douglas was safe and she could see for herself if Tom has really changed. It was a win-win for everyone. That house is huge and it has a wing that is never used. Brooke even said it not too long ago. It is the wing where Maya and Rick lived, and I think it has s separate entrance. Tom could be living there, and not even have to see Brooke very much, if he did not want to.
