Nobody Understands Shared Custody

No it’s not correct. Shared custody generally strives for as close to equal time with each parent in each parent’s home as possible or whatever the parents agree upon. But the child has 2 homes. Legal parental rights are determined in joint custody arrangements which are usually part of shared custody agreements so that both parents participate in decisions about the child’s care and welfare…such as schools, health matters, etc. But under shared custody, Douglas does have 2 homes. Brooke’s cabin where Mommy Hope lives is not his only home. Eric’s home is his home, too, since Thomas lives there.

A child can have one legal residence, not two, and right now that is Hope's address, not Tom's I think Hope is the legal physical custodial parent at this time. This gives her a few more rights than Tom. They could change it to joint, and then work it all out. But, that would mean 1 week at Hope's, the next week at Tom's. People do it all the time. That way neither has to even seen the other, during their week with their kid.
