I do not understand why Brooke has not played the game

I enjoy a lot of your posts, Matisse, and although I understand where you're coming from here, I really don't think Brooke HAS IT IN HER to be that way. I see her as this *DESPERATE* character who always defaults to primal survival instincts when she is threatened. I don't know whether this goes back to her less-than-wealthy upbringing or her father abandoning her or what it is, but the only "games" she seems to know how to play are either SEDUCTION or CONFRONTATION.

I agree with you that the best way to deal with your enemies in most circumstances is to kill them with sweetness or kindness. But I think only CULTURED people can do that, and I just don't think Brooke has *EVER* been cultured. To me she is even worse than Shauna.

IDK. Taylor was born into poverty with a father who got her mother killed because of his weaknesses, and she still manages to act all goody-two-shoes to get her way. I don't consider Taylor cultured in any way, nor did I consider Stephanie cultured. But then Stephanie was always desperate and confrontational. She was unable to be seductive because she was too base. I guess going by your summation, Stephanie or Pam should have been able to play the game, but they could not. I don't think it has anything to do with class distinction, which is archaic in 2022, I think it has to do with being able to be manipulative, which I agree, Brooke does not do, but Taylor does very well. I think Taylor has played this one well, and she will win Ridge, this round. But not be able to keep him. JMO
