What’s going to be the big letdown for Steffy and Thomas

All this Forrester huffing and puffing can’t go on. Something is going to happen. I suspect a few possibilities. Taylor’s halo will crack in an unsuspecting way. Steffy over focus on her parents reunion leaves Hayes vulnerable. Thomas and the family will learn that Hope is not just a nurse maid to Douglas and that he really really loves his family with Hope, Liam and Beth. They can’t be so dismissive of them. What’s your guess?

I dont see Taylor and Steffy as dismissive of Douglas' relationship with his mother. They just want Douglas to have the same opportunity to build the same type of relationship with his father.

Thanking Hope for "looking after" Douglas, completely leaving out their own involvement in how that shook out, is treating Hope like a glorified babysitter. They both know what was going on with Thomas, and his treatment of his son, additionally, they were both fully aware of Thomas's role in keeping the Beth secret. However, neither of them gave a fig about Thomas, or what he was doing to his son. They each had their own agendas, and weaponized Douglas, just like his father did, in order to achieve their own ends. Now, three years later these two want to come at Hope screeching and squawking about how Thomas deserves this, and Thomas deserves that. Thomas deserves whatever Hope decides he deserves. She is his mother and stepped in and saved that boy from a mentally unstable father who was terrorizing him.

They are beyond dismissive of Hope and Douglas's relationship.

Hope and Thomas have shared custody which means she cannot just ignore Thomas' role as Douglas' father. She does not get to decide what Thomas deserves and does not deserve. Thomas did not give up his parental rights. He simply shared them with Hope and is now ready to take a more substantial role in Douglas' life. They both have acknowledged that Hope stepped in and provided Douglas with a stable home and a mother's love and expressed gratitude for that. They can be grateful and still think that Douglas should spend more time with his father.

Any lack of co-parenting is certainly not on Hope's shoulders. Thomas made the decision to deprioritize Douglas, preferring to play cupid with his parents and focus on his career.

For a guy who, as little as two months ago, could take his son or leave his son, to suddenly want full custody, is very odd indeed. No, Thomas is using Douglas once again in his efforts to win Hope's heart. It is as plain as day.

Of course it's on Hope's shoulders. Up until now she has controlled Thomas' access to Douglas. Thomas has expressed a desire to step up for Douglas because he feels he is ready now. I don't see him using Douglas. That may change but I see no indication of it at this point.

Being the primary guardian doesn't mean you are "controlling" access in a negative sense. Stepping up doesn't mean Douglas has to move, either. Liam just explained today how Thomas is using Douglas.
