Taylor is right

Thomas wasn't in a good place mentally when he signed those papers. Hope and Brooke knew that and took advantage. That in itself brings into question the validity of the entire document/agreement.

No it doesn't. No one held a gun to his head to make him sign it. He did it willingly to try to get into Hope's pants.

I think this IRL would go no where. It might if Tom has relinquished his own rights when he signed the papers. It might if Caroline had still been alive, or her mothers fought over him doing it. But, none of that happened. The fact is, mentally unsound or not, Tom did not lose his rights when he signed those papers. He has joint custody, that has been said. So, I doubt any judge would TAKE a mother away from a motherless child. It would be one thing if Tom had remarried and had a wife that wanted to adopt Douglas, but he does not. If a judge throws out the adoption papers, that would mean Douglas no longer has a mother. And I am going to be cruel here, but why would Hope want to keep mothering a child she no longer has any say-so over where he goes to school, where he lives, nothing? It would break her heart, but for her own well being, if this comes to pass, she should sever all ties with Douglas and Tom both. Why make herself ore vulnerable to Taylor and Steffy's cruelty? It would make no sense at all. It would be devastating to Douglas, but as Taylor and Steffy seem to feel right now, he does not need a mother, especially Hope. So IMHO if this were my daughter, and as hard as it would be, I would advise her to let the child go, and mourn him and then move on, because I would not want my child to suffer anymore at the hands of the Hamilton monsters. All Hope could do then is pray that they would love Douglas enough not to ruin him.
