The way I see it:
Thomas was ok at the beginning and he gave Hope time.
Yet he was hoping their relationship to develop and THIS IS, what normaly should happen, because Hope and Thomas are 30+.
I agree that he pushed a bit too much, but this wasn't because he disrespected Hope's wishes.
For me he just wanted a clear answer, where he stands in Hope's life. And he've got the answer:
He stands after Hope herself, after her career, after her kids, after everything in Hope's life.
Who can blame him he's upset? I can't.

I can certainly blame him for giving her an ultimatum. That is my choice and how I see it.
