I could understand that.
But Hope handled it all wrong.
If a marriage to Thomas isn't an option for her at all, she should have made it clear by NOT TAKING the ring, even as a necklace.
She should also keep a kind of distance to him, knowing that he is all on her.
Instead she set Thomas' hopes up and even Brooke got the impression Thope could work after all.
So again: Hope handled it WRONG and clearly misleaded Thomas.
So I hope Thomas finds the strength to end it all with Hope and like Steffy said, to focus on a future without her.

You bring up Brooke. I wonder if somehow Brooke is going to get the blame by Tom and Ridge both for this latest turn of events, since it happened right after Brooke and Hope spoke?

If Ridge or Thomas tries to blame Brooke, I hope both Brooke and Hope put them in check. Brooke was kind and optimistic, though graded. She did not tell Hope what to do. And she shared that exact info with Ridge.

Yes, I really liked Brooke telling Ridge what was said, and also telling Hope it was her choice what she wanted to do. We saw the picture for this week of Tom and Brooke, and in that one picture he does not look like he is mad or snarking at her.
