First of all Taylor didn't have an affair with Hector. She kissed him once. More importantly though Thomas and Steffy know the abbreviated version of the truth, Ridge left Taylor to go chase after Brooke. The longer version is that Ridge was looking for an exit where he wasn't the bad guy and convinced himself that Taylor was a hypocrite for something that happened over a decade prior and in spite of the fact that Brooke had done more and worse. I don't think those details are going to change their opinion of Brooke.

When Brooke had her drunken kiss with Deacon, Taylor and Steffy was calling it cheating. It it is cheating for Brooke to kiss someone, then it is cheating for Taylor to kiss someone. Brooke did not want Ridge when he left Taylor. If Ridge still wanted Brooke, that is Ridge's fault, not Brooke's. Brooke was not chasing Ridge. I guess Ridge got tired of hearing Taylor and her sidekick Stephanie trash Brooke while hiding what Taylor did. That is the definition of a hypocrite and Ridge called her out on it.
