First of all Taylor didn't have an affair with Hector. She kissed him once. More importantly though Thomas and Steffy know the abbreviated version of the truth, Ridge left Taylor to go chase after Brooke. The longer version is that Ridge was looking for an exit where he wasn't the bad guy and convinced himself that Taylor was a hypocrite for something that happened over a decade prior and in spite of the fact that Brooke had done more and worse. I don't think those details are going to change their opinion of Brooke.

No, no, no....she admitted to Ridge that night she finally told him about cheating on him with James, that she had made out with Hector a few times. I can bring the transcript over if you want it. Ridge asked her if it had happened more than once and she said "yes" but promised it was never going to happen again.

Ridge definitely was looking for a way out, but he also was willing to give it another try with Taylor. The night he came back from the business trip he told her he wanted to make it work, she then confessed the truth because she had to, she had been caught in her underwear with Hector, in her bedroom, by Brooke. Brooke did not do worse to Ridge than Taylor had done. Brooke had never cheated on him while they were married, like Taylor did. And, Brooke had never lied to his face about his child, like Taylor did to Ridge about Tom. Ridge left Taylor not because he convinced himself she was a hypocrite, he found out she really was one, and he realized that the woman he thought was his angel, and so perfect was a liar and a fake, and she did not have to be, but was because she did not trust him at all to love her as a flawed person. THAT is why he left her, because as he said, he did not even know her, because she lied and blamed Brooke for things she herself had done too.
