Steffy asked Finn if Liam had any idea about Thomas and Hope's changing attitudes. I thought Liam and Steffy were BFFs who talked about everything and supported each other through everything? How can she not know how he feels about it?

Maybe they have learnt the lesson? The last time they started confiding things and spending time together, they ended up half naked on the couch. It doesn't mean they don't have feelings anymore, but they've realized it's better if they don't spend too much time together. Steffy knows Liam would be there for her if she needs him and vice versa, but they don't need it right now. They are co-parenting the girl and that's it. I don't think there is any tensions between them.

Taylor and Ridge should have done the same. Same for Hope and Thomas.

I agree with your sentiment, but I disagree that Liam doesn't need a friend right now. But I can see why you say his friendship with Steffy isn't the kind of friendship he might need.
