I don’t think Hope ever backed down from Steffy. She was more than capable of holding her own. It’s basically saying that Hope was weak before which is not true at all.

She never threw back Steffys past in her face. And Brooke never threw back Taylor's past. Maybe that's changed.

Maybe not AN's weaksauce hope.

I can't remember KMs Hope ever throwing Steffys actions back in her face either. And she certainly had plenty of opportunity to do when Steffy demanded she respect her marriage, after giving zero respect to Lopes engagement.

Oh, I was not realizing the past is what you meant. I thought it was the "give as good as she gets part."

Yeah, I don't think anyone is allowed to throw steffy or Taylor's past at them. That is correct. But I did think that km's hope got in Steffy's face more than AN's. I thought they watered Hope down upon her return.

But, yeah as far as the past is concerned, yeah. That's correct. No one tells Steffy or Taylor about themselves.
