I don’t think Hope ever backed down from Steffy. She was more than capable of holding her own. It’s basically saying that Hope was weak before which is not true at all.

I interpreted it differently, more like Hope isn’t backing down in regards to Thomas not that she was weak before. I think she’s just not going to be as nice in the conversation.

Kind of foolish of her IMO. Steffy holds the purse string for the thing Hope loves more than anything else, HFTF. I don't think I would get up in my bosses face about me banging her brother, when the thing I want most in the world is controlled by the boss. Hope seems to have a misconception that Tom can insure that HFTF is safe, or even that he holds some sort of power at FC. He does not. And now with RJ designing, he is not even the only game in town when it comes to the Forrester legacy. Steffy and Ridge control the company and what goes on in the company. Eric has final say....and as of right now, neither one of them is a blip on Eric's radar. Tom did not help Eric design his final line....Tom and Hope's little brother did. Thope was too busy getting it on in one of ERIC'S company offices, to even pay attention or care. JMO
