I don’t think Hope ever backed down from Steffy. She was more than capable of holding her own. It’s basically saying that Hope was weak before which is not true at all.

I interpreted it differently, more like Hope isn’t backing down in regards to Thomas not that she was weak before. I think she’s just not going to be as nice in the conversation.

Agree. Similar to how she stood up to Taylor a few weeks ago. She doesn't see being like Brooke as an insult. Good for her. It's about time Hope and Brooke threw some of Steffy and Taylor's behavior back in THEIR faces.
