Steffy told Taylor that Finn is her soulmate

I hear you. I don't remember that part, because I tend to use my fast-forward button a lot when Steffy is on. But I'll take your word for it.

A few observations...

1) The way you describe it here, it looks like a very random conversation with her mother (and not with Finn himself), and he wasn't even the main topic of their conversation. In all of Steffy and Taylor's recent convos, the main topic was Ridge/Brooke and Taylor/Brooke (and Sheila). I don't think Steffy has ever had a honest conversation with Taylor (or Ridge or Thomas) in which she confesses about her history with Finn and clearly states he is her soulmate. Every time someone asks her questions about Finn, she immediately deflects and starts raving about how much Taylor and Ridge love each other and belong together. If she is comparing her relationship with Finn to the way Ridge feels about Taylor, then I don't see take it as a compliment. Ridge sees Taylor as his safe choice since around 2000. This piece of conversation definitely seems very random and unsignificant, even if I don't have the exact context.

One thing is sure to me, she has never passionately told Finn he was, is and will always be the greatest love of her life. That's how she operated to snag him from Ivy when she returned from Paris and targetted her cousin's boyfriend. See the last moments of the episode number #7087 ( bit.ly/3Shmj2R ) ... I don't think there is any room for comparison between this honest confession (straight to Liam's face) and some ordinary moment with her mother in the middle of discussions about her history with Ridge.
Much much later, she also told Liam he and Kelly are and will always be her greatest gifts, whether he is still with her or not. I don't have the exact transcript to back it up, but the worst part is she was already with Finn. It isn't like she was dating Liam and calling him her greatest gift... She was already in a committed relationship with Finn and she told Liam that. I think this is when she called Finn 'a connection' and told Liam it's nothing compared to how she feels about him (or that one was earlier, I don't recall the exact timing)... Either way I have yet to hear Steffy telling Finn that, or clearly indicate he is more important than the father of her other child. (If one still has doubts, listen to the wedding vows she tells Liam in 2013 and 2017, then her vows to Finn in 2021. I think the difference is visible.)

2) If Bell wanted to make it clear Finn is her soulmate, why was Liam the first person on her mind when she woke up ? He wasn't even in the room when she opened her eyes and this is who she wanted to see... her husband Liam. I can totally buy that her memory was still a bit confused and that she didn't remember Finn. I get that. But why LIAM, then? Her last marriage to Liam ended several years before these events. Why didn't she ask to see Phoebe, her dead twin ? Or Stephanie, her grandmother? Why didn't she want to to go home with Wyatt, Rick or one of her other exes ? She specifically asked to see Liam, because she thought he was her husband. Why did she recognize Paris in her hospital room ? She met Paris for the first time several months after she met Finn, but she knew exactly who Paris was and couldn't remember Finn. I could buy the '''she blocked it out and erased Finn from her memory because of the trauma''' theory if she didn't remember Finn and thought she was single... but nope. That theory doesn't work, because she absolutely wanted to go home with Liam, her husband. Liam had nothing to do with Sheila and the trauma, yet this is the only person she wanted by her side. And finally, she only remembered Finn after Liam showed her photos and informed her he was married to Hope and she had another man in her life. She didn't remember him on her own until Liam told her. Why be so desperate to go home with Liam if her soulmate was waiting somewhere ? Interesting.

3) If it's true Finn is her soulmate, why is she acting like the most vicious, annoyed, irritated person on the show since she learnt he was alive ? I like JMW a lot, but in 15 years I have never seen her playing such an angry character. I have heard a lot of whining and yammering from a lot of characters in 3 decades, but Steffy is breaking all the records in 2022. She was never so full of hatred... not even all the times Liam dumped her for Hope. Even when she was dealing with the aftermath of Aly's death and Ivy's accidents, I still had some sympathy from her (I missed a lot of episodes during those years but I saw enough). Right now she sounds totally obsessed, and it's not just about her parents. She abominates all the Logan women, and that includes Hope. Her snotty attitude with Hope at the Forrester dinner made me depise her more than ever. She won't even acknowledge all the good things Hope did for Douglas. Hope saved her brother's life twice, but Steffy has never shown an ounce of thankfulness. Hope was at her bedside praising her, defending her. Hope was Finn and Steffy's first supporter when Liam, Ridge and Thomas had some concerns about him at the beginning. Hope literally saved Douglas from an abusive parent and gave him the love and the education he needed until today. She makes Douglas feel happy and safe. Isn't Douglas Steffy's nephew? Her odium for Hope is tacky, it's demoralizing. Furthermore, she obviously can't accept the fact Liam chose Hope and not her. Since she met Finn, she keeps saying Hope destroyed her family and took Liam away from her. She literally yelled that Hope stole Liam. In a quite recent conversation with Taylor, they were lamenting about how the Logans stole their men. And just last week at Forrester, she called the Logans homewreckers. If she was so happy with her soulmate, why even bring that up ? Why all this rancor towards Hope if it isn't about Liam's feelings and decision to make a life with Hope  Hope has never hurt Steffy other than all the times they were fighting over Liam and she lost. Sure, she ran Steffy off the ski slopes in Aspen and pushed her against a desk, but I doubt those are the main reasons why Steffy can't stop belittling her.
Her attitude wasn't much different before Sheila almost killed her and Finn. Between January and March this year, she was never portrayed as a happy newlywed who enjoys life with her husband. She was already whining about Hope and Brooke in most episodes. She was encouraging Taylor to go after Ridge, used Charlie to access Brooke's cameras and covered Thomas when he deleted Brooke's voicemails. Her supposed soulmate was the last person on her mind back then. She declared war on the Logans and wanted to see Hope and Brooke miserable. 9 months later her negative feelings haven't changed. The grew, and have never been stronger.

4) Another interesting remark... Steffy flat out said ''Brooke doesn't love Ridge'', after the Deacon kiss. According to her, Brooke doesn't love Ridge, and she never did. Transcript is from early February this year. Interesting, isn't it ? More lately she said Brooke doesn't deserve Ridge and they make each other unhappy. This is her reasoning. A drunk Brooke kissed Deacon back and kept it secret for a few days -> conclusion : she never loved Ridge.
This is rich, coming from the woman who went further than a kiss when she was with a man she claimed to love. Yes, she was drunk too, but unlike Brooke she chose it, she wasn't sabotaged by Sheila. She didn't kiss Liam once..., she had sex with him on the couch. Brooke intented to tell Ridge a few days later (before Taylor beat her), whereas Steffy intended to keep the secret to her grave (she only came clean to Finn because Liam decided to tell Hope; she realized Hope would tell Finn, so she had no choice). Brooke was overwhelmed with guilt when she woke up and realized she kissed Deacon. Steffy didn't look one bit remorseful when she saw Liam half-naked on her couch. According to her, the sex was unforgettable and wonderful. She stated she doesn't regret it. Then she told Liam she will always love him and asked what it means for his marriage to Hope. There was no misunderstanding on her part : she didn't sleep with Liam because she thought Finn cheated on her with her ennemy. She made that choice to sleep with Liam knowing she had a faithful boyfriend, and she didn't regret it. The misunderstanding didn't last long enough to dump Finn, but she contemplated it until the truth (about Thomas' hematoma and the mannequin) came out. Ridge grilled her about her feelings for Liam and Finn and she stayed silent. She didn't look relieved when the truth about Thomas came out : she sounded rather hearbtoken when Liam informed her he was staying with his wife. The next day, Finn grilled her about her true feelings and asked if she would go back to Liam if he wanted her. She brushed it off and changed the topic. And she still hasn't answered this question.
I find this interesting. Brooke's mistakes from 32 years ago with Ridge and Eric are still brought up in these current episodes. Including by Steffy herself. She accused Brooke of cheating on Ridge with Eric (this is a big lie, but I digress). Her 2 paternity tests happened within the last 5 years but the Logans are never allowed to bring it up. Brooke is still called out (by Steffy, Taylor and Thomas) for her affair with Deacon (20 years ago) but Steffy's 2 recent betrayals are swept under the rug. Steffy decided Brooke doesn't love Ridge and should lose him forever because of the Deacon kiss. Does that mean she never loved Finn ? If ''Brooke never loved Ridge'' is a fact for Steffy, then ''Steffy never loved Finn'' is even truer. By her own logic, she never loved Liam and Wyatt either. Should I conclude her soulmate is Rick ? He is the only guy she never betrayed. They ended things because he used her.

I'll let you process these things. The whole show is terrible imo, but I still watch it out of habit. And if there is 1 thing I want to guarantee 100%, that's it. By her own logic, she doesn't love Finn at all, never did. She is miserable and wants all the Logans to pay and be more unhappy than her. And this is the most terrible look for a soap character. Not the look of a person who just reunited with her 'soulmate'
