Two Marriages on Life Support

Both Ridge and Brooke's marriage as well as Eric and Quinn's are hanging on by a legal document thread. Ridge and Quinn have obvious feelings for other people. In both instances they would clearly rather be with Taylor and Carter respectively but they're staying with Brooke and Eric out of obligation, simply because their married. In Ridge's case he wants to make his marriage work; in Quinn's case she believes Eric is faithful and wants to be loyal to him. Neither of them are fully invested in their marriages. Ultimately both of these marriages are doomed. I'm all for honoring your vows but if the marriage isn't working anymore staying in it just stay in it ain't worth it. Ironically the only person who's gonna wind up hurt is Brooke because Eric seems to into his simple ass sidepiece.

What makes you think Ridge "would clearly rather be" with Taylor? I didn't see anything like that. If he did, there would be nothing easier than file for divorce after already being separated from his wife for months. How is he staying with Brooke out of obligation when he moved out months ago? The main reason he hasn't come back to her yet, even after learning about the label switch, is still the way she has been protecting Deacon, not that his feelings for Taylor are stronger.
