The show has ignored two things about Tridges

When Taylor got a hold of shares I believe from Stephanie she gave most or all of it to Steffy. She didn’t give any to Thomas, right? Also, Thomas and Ridge have a sticky history because of Caroline. For the longest time, Ridge believe that Thomas forced himself on Caroline and didn’t want to have anything to do with him. He pretended to be Douglas‘s father. Of course, Thomas dated Caroline first; and, when she got involved with Ridge she was married to Rick. In many ways, Thomas should not have a good relationship with either of his parents. Steffy has always been the favorite child. I wonder why the show never capitalized on that?

Such an excellent point!!! Y&R does a much better job with family resentment stories.
B&B seems to want to push this fake Forrester Loyalty narrative at the expense of the real deep messy stories that could fuel years of the show!
It makes me think it was all unintentional and they just thought they had written themselves into a corner and rather than walk through the mud...they just pretend it didn't happen.

The Caroline story is incredible important. The other angle that was just sitting in their lap was using her treatment at the hands of Thomas & Ridge!! That should be fueling a rage in Bill that is lifelong IMO. That poor woman was a very smart, intelligent and vibrant woman. Then, she was completely broken down and destroyed by first the horror of Thomas sleeping with her while she was medicated...then the worlds most stressful pregnancy. Finally, Ridge's decision to force her to lie about Douglas's paternity!!
The writers let the only other powerful female Spencer be wiped off the canvas and she's treated like an afterthought. It's unforgivable....and it should have been a stronger story point.
