I think it’s because they want Steffy to be badass and like her grandmother. I think she honestly believes she’s doing right by her family.

Doesn’t make the actions right but that’s how soap characters are.

And other than the silly “war” story she hasn’t done anything against the Logans.

Badass people aren't mean and nasty. They're tough and strong willed. Steffy is just a bully. Big difference. She's awful to people. Imagine if Hope or Brooke punched other characters in the face.

Finn is a very likeable character, IMO. I wish he was paired with someone nicer. Or at least someone who isn't violent.

I totally agree. Steffy being violent is treated like it´s a cute characteristic, just typical of her. Even Liam smiled when he talked with Carter about Steffy´s violence. I don´t remember any other woman just walking into someone´s house and punching them in the face.
Even though Sheila is a criminal, that´s not how justice works. Steffy better had testified against the woman who shot her and Finn.

Yeah, somehow violence is supposed to be an admirable trait, because it's Steffy. Liam was wrong. It isn't cute, no matter who it is.
