A One-Woman Reminder

During her rambling session where she mostly said nothing, Hope mentioned being pulled towards a "one-woman man" and then looked towards Liam. It was another subtle reminder that the underlying problem that ended Lope is that Liam isn't a one-woman man. That's irreparable. That can't be fixed. A man who openly admitted to being incapable of being a one-woman man can't magically turn into one nor can he expect a woman he put through the ringer to believe him if he tries to sell the idea.

While it is true that forgiving infidelity is a very hard thing, it can’t possibly be harder than forgiving someone for keeping your child from you, yet Hope did. She told Liam it’s because she knows he is a changed man and she has been able to move past it. If Liam can prove he too has really changed and no longer wants to constantly go between two women, maybe she could forgive him? Also, Liam hasn’t indicated he even wants to be with Hope again, so it doesn’t matter if Hope wants him or not. She claims to still love Thomas so I guess we will find out if Thomas really wants a future with Hope. I believe Liam will discover that his constant need to have a woman in his life may stem from losing his mom, his only source of stability growing up. Hope has admitted her actions may have to do with her mom and upbringing. Ultimately, it’s gonna depend on what the writers want and ratings dictate. I’m no Liam fan, but I once was a Lope fan, and they certainly turned me against that! The power is definitely in the writing.

If infidelity is hard to forgive, then Hope has work to do with Liam and getting him to trust her. She's the one who broke the fidelity this last time that destroyed the marriage for her walk on the wild side. And I think she is the one who has to come to an understanding that if she can having feelings for Thomas and keep them in check, then Liam can have feelings for Steffy and keep them in check.

It was unfair of her to spend all those months last year, fighting to control herself, but then admonish Liam for 'divided feelings" that he was managing better than she was her divided feelings.

Hope said many times she was wrong, as she was. My post was in response to infidelity being something you can’t get past. Liam and Hope both acknowledged they were both wrong and working towards a different path moving forward. I don’t think there is even a discussion about that path being together at this time, which is fine with me. Maybe friendship is the future for Lope.
