A One-Woman Reminder

During her rambling session where she mostly said nothing, Hope mentioned being pulled towards a "one-woman man" and then looked towards Liam. It was another subtle reminder that the underlying problem that ended Lope is that Liam isn't a one-woman man. That's irreparable. That can't be fixed. A man who openly admitted to being incapable of being a one-woman man can't magically turn into one nor can he expect a woman he put through the ringer to believe him if he tries to sell the idea.

I would think if Thomas can change being obsessed with Hope then Liam can change. I don’t have a sense that Liam wants two women at the same time. I sense that he cannot handle rejection of any kind. I think some people get angry because he moves on in hours. He doesn’t wait to work it out. Liam cannot handle it when Hope disses him. Steffy rarely put him off and that why he kept falling back on her. Hope has in some way shape or form dissed every guy she’s been with. She does things to call the relationship into question and just like Thomas was the other day, they are horrified. They don’t get it. Hope doesn’t understand what the big deal is. Why won’t Thomas give her more time. Well he’s waited for years in his mind. Why does Liam always run to Steffy? Well up until now she always made herself available. She always compliments him and lifts him up. Nothing is ever just right for Hope. She seeks perfection and needs not just undivided loyalty but praise.

Perfection? Like not wanting her boyfriend to unknowingly have sex with her mom? Like not wanting to see her fiance kiss her step-sister in the car? Like not wanting him to be out with her all night before their wedding? Like not wanting him to be making out on the bed with her the day of their wedding? Like wanting him to come to her for an explanation after the mannequin kiss before having sex with her? None of those things are examples of looking for perfection. They're normal expectations for couples.
