What specifically did Thomas lie about pray tell?

I am wondering the same. He said he didn’t intentionally kill Emma and that is true. For anyone thinking otherwise it’s very clear here in this flashback starting at the 3:49 mark that he wanted her to pull over, not go off the road and that he was shocked when she did.

He also said he doesn’t know if she was texting. That was true. He wasn’t in her car. What he hasn’t said and BS’d about today is that whether or not texting contributed (and I feel it did), things he did (tailgating her with his brights on, intimidating her verbally earlier) also contributed. We’ll see what he says tomorrow, whether or not he takes some responsibility and shows remorse.

Did Steffy not ask Thomas point blank if any of Xander's allegations were true? That's the key to the claim that Thomas lied. Steffy knows what Xander said to Finn. Thomas knows what Xander said to Finn. When Thomas tells Steffy that the only thing Xander was right about was that he was a person of interest, that means that Thomas is saying that everything else was untrue? That's a lie.

He knows Xander accused him of murdering Emma. I don’t recall exactly what details were relayed by Finn to Thomas and Steffy, and by Steffy to Thomas, but being accused of being a murderer would be what stood out in my mind if I were the subject of discussion, and what I would address. We will see how honest he is tomorrow when they presumably get into more detail.

It was clear to me that Steffy had shared everything with Thomas about Finn's last discussion with Xander. In that discussion, Xander took Finn step by step through the night of Emma's death and what he had learned during his own investigation. So, Steffy asks Thomas, are any of Xander's "allegations" true. Thomas says only that he was a person of interest. He lied.

Actually he said he was a person of interest and that he should have been. This conversation occurred in the last five minutes or so of the show, it’s just the start. I will be perfectly willing to say he lied tomorrow if I feel that way, but for today I am going to suspend judgement. I feel he told the truth on the bottom line allegation and otherwise deflected so far, while conceding that the whole truth should come out. Whether his “whole truth” turns out to be a lie remains to be seen for *me*.

I think maybe the important part is, if he tells Steffy the truth, will he then go to Hope and tell her the truth too? And if he does, will she stay with him, if so, then she is a very low person, who would be showing that Emma's death meant nothing to her, as it meant nothing to Tom. Why I say this is, he left Emma to die alone in the ravine and did not call for help. Forgivable maybe if you are 18, despicable if you are mid-30's. If Hope were to tell Tom she understand and he is all healed now and better, than she might as well been in that car with him as he chased Emma to her death in the canyons, and Hope to, might as well have a smirk over it, as Tom did, and we all saw it.
