What specifically did Thomas lie about pray tell?

I am wondering the same. He said he didn’t intentionally kill Emma and that is true. For anyone thinking otherwise it’s very clear here in this flashback starting at the 3:49 mark that he wanted her to pull over to talk to her, not force her to go off the road and that he was shocked when she did.

He also said he doesn’t know if she was texting. That was true. He wasn’t in her car. What he hasn’t said and BS’d about today is that whether or not texting contributed (and I feel it did), things he did (tailgating her with his brights on, intimidating her verbally earlier) also contributed. We’ll see what he says tomorrow, whether or not he takes some responsibility and shows remorse.

That's where I am. In wait and see mode. I think the show has left plenty of grey area to create an air of mystery. Nothing is cut and dried. It can still go either way.

Not to mention they'll probably write it to produce as much debate as possible for years to come!
