Thomas and Consequences

For anyone wondering why Thomas never learns from his mistakes, the answer is playing out on screen as we speak. Taylor believes Thomas was manipulated by Sheila and that he was going to come forward, when from what I saw, none of that is true. Thomas had no problem telling Sheila off about the label switch, but he struggled with coming forward only because it could derail his parents reuniting. He wasn't all that concerned about the effects of Sheila's behavior on anyone else, except for Douglas, whom he mentioned in passing. Then, Taylor and Ridge decide that Thomas' role in this whole debacle needs to be contained, and they claim he'll be dealt with privately.

If Thomas never suffers the entirety of the consequences for what he does wrong -- or he's always got someone enabling him -- why would he learn from the error of his ways and become a better person? Taylor and Ridge are always excusing his behavior, or finding ways to go soft on him, and then he just goes and does something else that's questionable or problematic. No accountability whatsoever. This is even more appalling in light of the fact Thomas' behavior always almost seems to impact Steffy in a negative way, too.

Taylor and Ridge are enablers.for Thomas and Steffy. It's natural for parents to try to protect their kids, but it's painfully obvious that Thomas will never accept responsibility for his actions until he's forced to.
