Ok when Sheila shot Taylor and everyone believed she was dead, she was sent to an institution for the criminally insane. Sugar was her warden. Eventually Sugar helped Sheila escape and the two of them kidnapped Ridge and Brooke on their honeymoon in South America. That's when Sheila nearly killed Ridge. Sheila and Sugar fled and at some point Sheila forced Sugar to have plastic surgery to look identical to her and sent her back to the institution in her place. That's when Sheila turned up back on Y&R in 05. Once Taylor reemerged Sheila (Sugar) was released from the institution because there was no murder.
