And while the explanations come, can someone remind me why I’m getting this Sugar story mixed up with a Phyllis story? Is there a link?

I don't have a link, but there wasn't much to it. Sugar was on Bold as her accomplice when she kidnapped Ridge. They were very close friends, perhaps more, and she had helped Sheila escape from prison (she was the warden) because she was pregnant.

They got the ransom money and fled. Years later on Y&R Lauren started having flashbacks and believed Sheila was after her, so she visited the prison and saw with her own eyes she was in a catatonic state, locked away. When Lauren and Sheila finally come face to face, they end up locked in a bomb shelter or something together for weeks.
Lauren asks Sheila how she did it, and she tells her that she tricked Sugar into plastic surgery to look like her. Later, Sheila saves Lauren from the bomb shelter, but it seems like she doesn't get out. Then the police say they have found her and arrested her, but it turns out it is Sugar, and Lauren knows because first Sheila had broken her ankle when they were trapped, and Sugar tried to kill Scotty, and Lauren knew Sheila would never do that.

Sugar was carted off to prison and never mentioned again. Her role in the story was quite small. KB was never in a scene with her, and Sugar said very little. So I wonder if that might be the thing she has never done.

God, that sounds absolutely ridiculous.

No, she was on 1 episode of Search for Tomorrow.

Ok don’t know why I thought she was on
I know David Hasslehoff was on YR from the start as Snapper or Skipper. He was a dr and in love with one of the girls in the main family at the time. I think that family is long gone now. I watched it when it first came on but life started getting in the way so I stopped.
