For some of us, it will ruin her forever.... because it will tantamount to her spitting right in Beth's face.

Now you know how some Steffy fans felt when she slept with Bill. And how some Liam fans felt after the mannequin story. And how some Taylor fans felt when the shooter was revealed. I spit right in my own face after these 3 events. The bus is coming for every characters at some point. The writers don't care.

I'll give you Taylor and admit that that was done purely for shock value. But Steffy and Liam were completely in character for those two events. Steffy fell out of love with Bill and in love with Liam simply because she hit her head. But there has always been an undercurrent between Steffy and Bill. And Bill has always had a soft spot for her. It's not out of character at all for her to turn to him especially when she thought Liam let her down. Same with Liam. Ever since he put Hopes ring on Steffys finger, he has shown again and again that he will always turn to Steffy when he thinks Hope has let him down. That too was completely in character for him.
