Steffy did this mainly because - the show wanted a surprise! LOL
Steffy has been wrong from jump for trying to break up a marriage. Whether Brooke really did something they liked or not, RIDGE insisted he loved his wife. He returned home. If he wanted Taylor she was there for the taking. He stayed home after the EPIC kiss. So “teen-agerish” to describe a kiss. She was just horny.
She did the right thing for Douglas. But again - she wasn’t there when Thomas and Douglas needed her after Caroline died. She doesn’t think about her younger brother who may care that his father is leaving his mother.
I’m glad Steffy did this, but it’s hard to forget her meaness this past almost year.

Well, I think Steffy's one-time honesty is way too little too late for this viewer!

Shown on screen, Steffy blackmailed Bill. Yet, she told Ivy (and Liam too) that “blackmail is a crime”. Per Steffy’s own words, she IS a criminal cuz she has blackmailed.
