Taylor has "just been there" as you say for 16 years now. Ridge and Brooke have broken up and gotten back together countless times during that period. But not once has Ridge turned to her even though she has made it more than clear she never got over him. I don't see why he would have turned to her this time except to shut his kids nonstop yammering about wanting Mommy and Daddy together. That's basically what he has done this time anyway.

No, Taylor has been in Africa and not part of the cast. Much like when Liam was kidnapped by Quinn and lost his memory he only thought about Steffy and not Hope. Hope was in Europe and not part of the cast at the time. Didn’t mean the writers wouldn’t decide to have Hope count later on, and the same could have been true for Taylor.
