That would be a good, soapy twist, Thomas using the voice changing app. I just think they would have mentioned that gadget again if that was what's going to happen. It was only mentioned in one short scene and I bet lots of people don't even remember it.

If the app had been mentioned too often, then no one would be surprised by the twist. And if it had never been shown before, then people would feel duped and Brooke haters would accuse Bell of rewriting the outcome of the storyline after seeing all the Brooke bashing on social media. That's why the app was shown exactly once. People on social media and a few more picked up on it, but I think most viewers have already forgotten about it and will be surprised by the twist, but will remember the app when flashbacks are shown during the reveal.
