I didn’t see a tantrum. It just caught Hope off guard. I don’t see it ending in a custody battle but given all Hope did for Douglas, it is understandable that just because he’s not her blood child doesn’t mean she doesn’t love him. I hate it when the show is so dismissive of emotional relationships as if the only thing that matters is DNA.

Some fans do feel that way. Like when Hope took Beth home. Some thought Hope should let Steffy have Beth for a while. Let Steffy still be a mother to Beth. So I think in this SL, some probably feel that Hope should be given time to process it.
