The whole Hope angle was completely contrived just so she could catch Donna and Eric. If Hope had to go to the club for Douglas and Eric told her he was going there, why didn’t they carpool? It would have made perfect sense since she had to talk to him anyway. But no, she stays behind and has a meaningless conversation with Quinn just so that Eric has a head start, and THEN follows him to the club where of course she conveniently knew exactly which room he was in. Why couldn’t whatever she had to discuss wait until she saw him at the office again? Who follows their boss to a club uninvited to discuss work? It would have made a lot more sense if she went there for Douglas and completely coincidentally happened to see Eric and Donna there too. Much less contrived.

I agree. Isn't Douglas Eric's great grandson? Hope should have been like, "Oh, Great! Can you take Douglas this thing?" Plus, who knows if Douglas' pool party would have been over by the time Hope finished with Eric if Eric had wanted to actually meet with her. The whole thing was contrived.
