The song at the end was "Hands of time", already used 3 times in 2014 for Hope and Liam.
https://youtu.be/HGEQwPY_Cis

I just wonder if that ending scene was just angst and a way to show they will get back together in a near future. Or if it is some kind of temporary closure!? I am NOT saying definitive closure, because we all know Hope and Liam will never be definitely over. For me "temporary closure" means they are done for a good amount of time. (minumum 6 months)

I know that when they played this song for them in 2014, they didn't get back together. The clip I posted happened after she married Wyatt, and we know what happened afterwards. She stayed with Wyatt, lost the baby and left.
They played a similar scene when Steffy caught Liam and Hope in the dressing room. Liam was at the cliff house, Steffy was in her car headed to Bill's office. They both had a few flashbacks with a song, and I saw it as closure for their relationship. They haven't been together since this episode aired.

So I wonder what this flashback scene was all about. Hope and Liam seem in a pretty bad place now. He made it clear he can not be with her if she doesn't cut all ties with Thomas, but she isn't willing to do that. Hope also made it clear she can not be with a man who loves 2 women, and Liam looked her in the eyes and said he loves Steffy.

Unless Liam suddenly changes his mind and accepts having Thomas and Douglas in his life with Hope, he can not be with Hope. Unless Hope changes her mind and accepts to forgive him and share him with Steffy, she can not be with Liam.

Even if the truth about Thomas setting her up comes out, I don't think it would change anything for them. Douglas and Thomas would still be in Hope's life and the fact that Liam kissed Steffy back and admits he loves her had nothing to do with Thomas. Even if Steffy tells Liam the truth and he runs to tell Hope, these issues would still exist. They are in an impasse.

Where do you think this is going? Are Hope and Liam just apart for a few weeks and they'll reunite once the "big secret" comes out and Thomas-Steffy are exposed? Or are they done for a good amount of time?

I hate to say it but I think they’re done for good. I think Bell for whatever asinine reason is making Steffy and Liam the new Stephanie and Eric. I think it’s wrong. He should move on from the patterns and actually write and put Steffy with Bill and Liam with Hope and create rivalry that way etc.

I see Hope and Liam more like Ridge and Brooke. Hope has made it clear this is all about Douglas, not Thomas. IF Liam does by some chance end up with Steffy, Thomas is still going to be a factor as Thomas is her brother. I'm not convinced Steam is the end game

I don't know if they'll break up or not. But they're not in a bad place because of Douglas. That could have been worked out. In fact, Hope went to the cliff house to tell Liam that she wanted to work out a compromise so they could get married. The reason they're in a bad place is because of Steffy. Just as Hope said.

I agree with you: "The reason they're in a bad place is because of Steffy." The reason they are in a bad place and the reason Steffy and Liam are also in a bad place is really because of Liam, not Hope and not Steffy. (Although I will allow that a couple where one issued ultimatums and the other refused to see the other person's side is already in a bad place.) I don't care if Steffy or Hope jumps on him and kisses him (or more); Liam is the one who can stop this by simply saying once and for all: "I will always care about you, but I only and always want to be with Hope/Steffy/Sally/Ivy/myself/etc." if he does that, what the woman in question does doesn't matter. But he chooses to kiss (and sometimes more) whichever one he is with when there is a conflict with the other.

Think the FOUR characters share some responsability. But the people who initiate things are more responsible, Imo.
Liam never plotted & manipulated to get a woman the way Steffy is lying/manipulating to get Liam.
Liam is no sexual child abuser & never set up a woman to find her man kissing another woman.
& with Hope, Liam tries to make it work. He tried & tried & tried again last year. A married Hope systematically cheated on him & turned to the man who kept her baby from her. Supporting/defending & running to the man who abused them & kept Beth from them is way more unforgivable than a single Liam kissing Steffy back, imo. If I were Liam, I would of shown Hope the door a long time ago. Long before she got as far as annulling her marriage & marrying Thomas a day later.

Agree. And I'm still not convinced that Lope are officially done..could be very temporary like last time. I still think Thope/Leffy are tease from Bell..don't think they will amount to anything substantial.

How could it have been worked out? Hope can't keep Douglas without Thomas being a part of her life and this is exactly what Liam doesn't want. Hope made it clear she's not leaving Douglas - her idea of compromise was convincing Liam to accept things HER way. Lope were falling apart before Steffy made her move. And yet Steffy is blamed for their break-up??

I have been watching this soap for 38 years & have seen it all! At this point in time, I think Liam should get his own home (a nice condo) & spend his days working with his dad. He can jet set around the world on the Spencer jet, working at the Spencer assets & meet new women & just visit with his daughters from time to time. He should leave both Steffy & Hope alone & let them find their on way!! :whistle

Liam leave Steffy alone? How is that even possible, knowing how desperate she is to be with him? Liam trusted her, he saw her as a friend and someone who was helping him keep her crazy brother away from Hope. And she betrayed him in the most heinous way, sabotaged his relationship with Hope and is keeping the secret from him. She is still obsessed with him and visitting him every weeks at Spencer. She is the one who needs to leave him alone.

His daughter lives there. He slept on the couch. And the next morning all he talked about was Hope, to the point where Steffy was fuming over it.

Hi, thank you for the link with the song! I knew I had already heard it once before, but I couldn't remember when or how.

I don't like Hope&Liam together, but this scene was very sad. I do hope the couple is done, though. Both characters deserve better. I want Hope with Thomas, and Liam with Steffy or Sally.

Hi, thank you for the link with the song! I knew I had already heard it once before, but I couldn't remember when or how.

I don't like Hope&Liam together, but this scene was very sad. I do hope the couple is done, though. Both characters deserve better. I want Hope with Thomas, and Liam with Steffy or Sally.

Sure, Hope deserves better, but certainly NOT that sexual predator Thomas who purposely kept her beloved Beth away from her. Thomas doesn't care about Beth at all....all of his deranged fantasies don't include Beth, so he is NOT better for Hope. IMO.

Clip at the end - angst or temporary closure?

The song at the end was "Hands of time", already used 3 times in 2014 for Hope and Liam.

It's up to Hope to decide. No one can decide for her. According to spoilers, she wants a man who is all about her and isn't torn between women. She likes this quality about Thomas and she is going to find comfort in his arms of all people, so I think she doesn't see him the way you do.

If Thomas is written as a good father-designer, loves Beth and makes Hope happy, I think they would be incredible together. This is what I would like to see. :)

Clip at the end - angst or temporary closure?

Seems like you are right. Hope finds Thomas endearing, thinks Liam is the liar & will be in Thomas' arms by next week. As strangely as it sounds, she must NOT see him as a predator/abuser, does she??? :oops :oops :oops

Thomas cares only what Thomas wants and what he wants doesn't include Beth, so I doubt Thope is ever going to be a viable couple..especially if Thomas is actively seeking revenge against Hope's mother, so that will be another issue for them.

Not to mention, Thomas used Zoe and slept with her..I don't foresee Zoe given up on Thomas that easily (even if Hope "falls" for Thomas which I doubt she will anyway).
