I agree. Thomas was "tested" several times by the show, his latest test being when he left Hope to go to Paris.
If he were still obsessed he never would have left her. Other tests were Xander e.g. or when Hope said she would try to make up with Liam after the mermaid party. He was sad but not obsessing. They took nearly a year to redeem him.

Redeem Liam he just wanted Finn’s wife..how is that redeemed

No mention of Liam. I have no idea why he’s so fickle. I do find it interesting that Liam has threatened no one and yet, by some speculation, he’s worst than people who have had violent outbursts or kept life altering secrets. Now that’s amazing.
