For mommy Caroline daddy was enough

I was confused when Douglas said that for his mommy Caroline daddy was enough. Did Thomas lie to Douglas about it too? Caroline and Thomas were not together when Caroline died. They just co-parented so Thomas had to lie to Douglas about it to make him resent Hope even more. When Douglas entered the Forrester office Thomas asked him if he talked to Hope and not mom. That was very telling. Douglas literally started to repeat Thomas's words to Hope. Word for word. "You don't love daddy enough to marry him". He even thinks that THEY aren't good enough for Hope and it's probably what a monster like Thomas would say to a kid to make sure that the kid wants to leave with him and not stay with Hope. . If Hope won't see how cruel Thomas is to her right now and she will just blame Steffy then she's dumb. Steffy is horrible for all the nasty things she says, but Thomas made all of the latest decisions on his own. He is cruel because he doesn't have a heart and not because Steffy made him do it.

I also think that Douglas was coached, and I think it may come out later on. What convinces me is after Douglas said that Caroline was his mom and she is dead, (basically telling Hope that she was not his mother) before he left, he ran to Hope and called her mom and told her he loved her. I think Thomas may have coached Douglas to get Hope to give in and change her mind. I don't think Thomas ever changed and is still the cruel monster that he has always been. The only difference in Thomas is that for a while with Hope, he was getting his obsession filled. When she didn't accept his proposal, he went back to monster mode.

This is my thinking as well. That is usually how we find out the nasty things Thomas does. Sometimes we do see it in real time, sometimes we find out after in flashbacks.
