What's strange to me is, if Eric was so adamant that he didn't want Ridge to know, why on Earth would he
give him power of attorney?

Of course, the point is moot now because Eric knows that everyone knows.

I don't know for sure, but I guess he has been power of attorney. Its not unusual for someone his age to name someone since he is no longer married. He probably did it when he updated his will after his divorce.
