I am not a writer but isn’t this an easy fix?

Write exciting stories within the soaps history.
Don’t be so obvious about demonizing characters to hold up others.
Eliminate redundant dialogue.
There’s got to be more to a couples trials and tribulations than the same problems with same people.
Villains who don’t evolve naturally are boring. The change can’t be so far fetched that it is unbelievable.
